Aragen Bioscience, Inc. Expands
Labs to Support Rapid Growth
Aragen Bioscience, Inc. (Morgan Hill,
CA), a provider of early stage research and development services to the
pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry, has moved into a new 17,000 sq. ft.
facility to support its aggressive growth.
“The demand for our services and the rate of growth we are experiencing
is extremely gratifying“ commented Rick Srigley, Aragen’s President and
CEO. “Our blend of scientific services,
encompassing molecular biology, cell biology, immunology, disease modeling,
cell line development and protein production, within a single company has
proven to be a unique and attractive part of our business model”, Srigley
added.
The new labs and offices will be used
in support of Aragen’s in vitro services, which include: immunological and
cell-based assays for cytokine and other analysis; target screening and
mechanism of action studies; cell line development; and protein production and
purification. This new facility is in
addition to an existing 8,500 sq. ft. facility dedicated to a diverse range of simple
to extremely complex disease modeling studies in rodents.
“This expansion enables us to confidently plan
and implement our business strategy for the next 3-5 years”, Srigley continued.
“We are clearly on the cusp of a unique opportunity and are confident that this
move will enable us to meet our customers’ expanding needs and continue our
rapid growth”.
Aragen Bioscience was formed in January
2006 to acquire the contract services business of Celliance Bioservices (a
Serologicals company) previously, Sierra BioSource. The fourteen year track record of continuous
operation from the inception of Sierra BioSource gives Aragen Bioscience a
significant experience base and a unique perspective on the bioservices
business.
